This is something you would call a bucket-list type of photo
session for me as an artist and portrait photographer. When Nikki asked me to photograph her
engagement session, I was elated to be a part of the experience for her and her
fiancé, Anthony. As the dates
approached, she told me she envisioned snowy Colorado as the backdrop and I about dropped
the cup of coffee I was sipping at the time.
This was a highlight of sessions for me because I have never
witnessed the beauty of nature in Colorado
during winter, let alone photograph a beautiful couple there. Some say the ocean is majestic, but to me it’s
the mountains, as nothing else in nature can compete with the morning sun rising
over a snow covered mountain slowly bathing the atmosphere in warm light and
waking the sleepy surroundings.
We woke up way before the break of dawn to catch some of
that sunlight in Breckenridge and later in Vail. They even had a cute indoor session next to a
cozy fire with hot cocoa and Basil Hayden’s.
Moments I will never forget, with friends to last a lifetime and photos
to last even longer. I can’t wait to be
with these two as they say their I Do’s in Riviera Maya, Mexico in just 87 days… not that
I’m counting the days or looking forward to it or anything ;). Please enjoy a few highlights from the engagement session!
