Arkansas Road Trippin' with Explore My State

This is a long overdue blog post!!  Late this summer I tagged along on an Arkansas road trip with my friend Rachel, a blogger for Explore My State.  We drove the beautiful Pig Trail back roads to Oark, Arkansas, a small town nestled in the heart of the Ozark National Forest.  It’s a popular destination for bikers cruising the Pig Trail.  Don’t be surprised if you run into leathered, tatted up bikers while you’re there.

We stuffed our bellies on cheeseburgers (the perfect hike food haha) before a hike to the Glory Falls, which is only a few minutes’ drive from the café. It was a calorie burning hike with a wee bit of climbing involved near the Falls but that made it all the more fun.  The falls are very unique in that it’s a waterfall literally carved into hole of a bluff after years upon years of erosion, you can hike in toward the height of the falls where you'll see the hole that water passes through, then several yards away you can climb down the bluff where the waterfall pours out of the opening above you.

I really want to go back during the spring to see an amplified version of the Glory Falls.  I would definitely recommend this hike after a moderate to heavy rainfall for anyone who is wanting to get away from the hustle bustle of every day life.  It's a great get-away.

Northwest Arkansas Engagement Session of Kristina and Matt

Hey everyone!!  I’m sooooo excited to show ya’ll this set of photos!!  As you may know, this small world sometimes has a unique way of working out.  Kristina is a Northwest Arkansas native who met her fiancé Matt after moving to Dallas for a teaching opportunity and to be close to her sister.  As it turns out, coincidentally, Matt happened to be from Northwest Arkansas as well.  The two quickly bonded over mutual interests, fast forward and here they are now, super excited to get hitched next year on the beach in Mexico.  Kristina and Matt drove from Texas for their fall inspired engagement session at one of my favorite locations.

Any session held at Rockford Grange is a definite treat, this was no exception.  The foliage was popping and my clients have a strong connection to one another which made my job easy.  Their humorous and fun spirit made photographing them enjoyable.  Check out their sweet photos.

Downtown Rogers Family Session

The Jackson Family is one of my all time favorite sessions of the year.  If I'm lucky, I get to see this group in front of my camera not once but twice a year.  I've wrote before on how important it is to get professional portraits of your family at least once every couple of years, at least!!

Your family grows and changes constantly especially if you have young kids.  While cell phone cameras have come a loooong way, Moms and Dads should get in front of the camera with their kids rather than settling with the photos you captured from your phone.

This family is one that treasures heirloom photographs each year and I love them for that.  The Jacksons met me for a downtown session in Rogers, despite a few rain drops, we had a blast and walked away with some adorable shots.  I really can't get enough of portraits with teens/pre-teens, they are SO FUN!!
