Northwest Arkansas Maternity Photos of Jamie

I have another maternity session to share, featuring Mrs. Jamie.  Jamie contacted me about photographing a years worth of sessions for her baby boy.  I was ecstatic since this is my first session purchased for a baby's first year photos.  I look forward to watching Lucas grow over the next year.  We started off with her maternity session and third times a charm with this one.  We had to reschedule the session twice before because of rain.

Boy!! I wish we had those problems now with the dry weather here in Arkansas lately.  Jamie and her husband John met me in Lowell at one of my very favorite locations at a church that has amazing grounds.    We decided on an early morning session since we are all morning people.  No really, the light in the morning on a relatively sunny day is amazing.  The earlier the better too since morning light quickly dissipates.

Jamie and John are pretty laid back which made the session so easy!  I could tell how much John adores Jamie and how excited they both were to welcome their first bundle of joy, little Lucas.  Luckily, we shot this maternity session when we did because it wasn't even a couple of days after that Lucas came into the world.  He was just holding out for momma to get her pictures made.  What a sweetie!

Stay tuned into the blog for a feature of newborn Lucas and if you know of anyone in need of maternity photos, please have them contact me!  These sessions are fun and this is an event that is well worth documenting.

Northwest Arkansas Family Photo Session

Adeliene and her family are always an adventure to photograph!!  You may recognize this family from a session last fall.  This time around we met up at Compton Gardens in Bentonville with the whole family.  Then afterwards, we drove a short distance to another location downtown with amazing open shade.  This was my first photo session with the newest addition and she is absolutely beautiful and such a daddy's girl.

Rachel's Northwest Arkansas Maternity Session

Rachel is one of my dearest friends and also my hairstylist.  We both wanted her maternity session to be natural and full of light.  It means a lot to me to photograph this session as well as Miss Kennedy's FIRST official photo session.  Here are some of my favorite shots of my beautiful friend, Rachel as she embarks on the journey of motherhood.  They were captured on the countryside outskirts of Lowell, Arkansas.

Eureka Springs Portrait Session

Check out these sweet photos of Hillary, who is graduating from college this week!  She wanted photos for such an exciting time in her life and I was more than happy to assist.  Hillary is from the unique and quirky town of Eureka Springs, AR.  This made for a perfect backdrop for her session.  With cool backdrops at every corner and Hillary's laid back attitude we pulled off some awesome shots that she will be able to cherish for a lifetime! Hillary is not only a natural beauty but she is super smart too!  Congrats on graduating Hillary, you will surely succeed in all that you do.

Northwest Arkansas Portrait Photography- Fall Family Session

Check out my favorite family session from this year.   It may also be in the running for my favorite family shoot ever, possibly because Addie & Byron are super laid back and look pretty darn good in front of my camera.  It helped to make my job easy!  The color scheme within the outfits they chose for their session really pulled this fall family session together.

We met for their session at Tanyard Creek in Bella Vista.  Tanyard will always hold a special place in my heart.  My very first session (an engagement) was held there way back when.  Awww, memories :)  Photographing at Tanyard Creek is fun because it gives a chance to relax, have a little fun at the park, and get to know my clients better while walking from one cool shooting spot to the next.

Northwest Arkansas Portrait Photography- Baby Jaiden

This is only my second newborn shoot as I typically shoot weddings and individuals, such as young adults, seniors or fashionistas.  I enjoyed this session and it was something out of the norm for me.  We photographed Baby J in my home in the sun-room which allowed for lots of natural light.  I also popped on my external flash from time to time to help fill in the shadows for certain shots.

I'll be honest I usually opt out of the in-home studio sessions because I have a HUGE pet peeve for cheesy studio set-ups that I see a lot of times from other photographers.  I'll put myself out there on this one--I had feared I wouldn't be able to produce the images I want to offer to my clients.  I am not a studio photographer but sessions like this make me want to create more of this fabulous and casual studio set up I envision in my head.  I am happy with the outcome. These beautiful baby photos aren't too cheesy :)
