Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photography: Lucas

Hey Everybody!

A couple of weeks ago I showed off a few of my favorite photos from Jamie's maternity session, now I wanted to introduce you to this little love boat, Lucas.  Jamie and her husband John brought Lucas over for his newborn session when he was eight days old.  He was a big boy with such a sweet personality.  We were able to get a variety of awake and sleepy shots.

Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photography- Miss Kennedy

Check out these sweet pictures of two week old Kennedy.  This was one of my best newborn sessions yet.  There were many factors that played into that, too.  I had the room very warm, slightly uncomfortable for adults but the temperature was just right for the little miss.  I also had white noise playing in the background and an assistant.  I had no clue how much those little details helped make her session go a lot smoother.

I consider myself a beginner in the world of studio lighting and newborn photography.  I will be honest... I'm extremely critical of myself and I've not gone ahead 100% with this type of session because I'm scared to get those cheesy photos that I've seen some beginning newborn photographers capture.  I'm getting better with each of these types of sessions and I feel confident enough to say that I'm proud of these photos of Kennedy.  She stole my heart and I can't get enough of her little button nose.  Here are a few of my favorites from her session.

Northwest Arkansas Maternity Photos of Jamie

I have another maternity session to share, featuring Mrs. Jamie.  Jamie contacted me about photographing a years worth of sessions for her baby boy.  I was ecstatic since this is my first session purchased for a baby's first year photos.  I look forward to watching Lucas grow over the next year.  We started off with her maternity session and third times a charm with this one.  We had to reschedule the session twice before because of rain.

Boy!! I wish we had those problems now with the dry weather here in Arkansas lately.  Jamie and her husband John met me in Lowell at one of my very favorite locations at a church that has amazing grounds.    We decided on an early morning session since we are all morning people.  No really, the light in the morning on a relatively sunny day is amazing.  The earlier the better too since morning light quickly dissipates.

Jamie and John are pretty laid back which made the session so easy!  I could tell how much John adores Jamie and how excited they both were to welcome their first bundle of joy, little Lucas.  Luckily, we shot this maternity session when we did because it wasn't even a couple of days after that Lucas came into the world.  He was just holding out for momma to get her pictures made.  What a sweetie!

Stay tuned into the blog for a feature of newborn Lucas and if you know of anyone in need of maternity photos, please have them contact me!  These sessions are fun and this is an event that is well worth documenting.

Northwest Arkansas Family Photo Session

Adeliene and her family are always an adventure to photograph!!  You may recognize this family from a session last fall.  This time around we met up at Compton Gardens in Bentonville with the whole family.  Then afterwards, we drove a short distance to another location downtown with amazing open shade.  This was my first photo session with the newest addition and she is absolutely beautiful and such a daddy's girl.

Rachel's Northwest Arkansas Maternity Session

Rachel is one of my dearest friends and also my hairstylist.  We both wanted her maternity session to be natural and full of light.  It means a lot to me to photograph this session as well as Miss Kennedy's FIRST official photo session.  Here are some of my favorite shots of my beautiful friend, Rachel as she embarks on the journey of motherhood.  They were captured on the countryside outskirts of Lowell, Arkansas.
