Northwest Arkansas Mom & Me Portraits

Witnessing a friend become a mother for the first time is awe-inspiring.  A life transformation of the most profound kind is happening right before one’s eyes and I’m unsure if new mothers realize just how absolutely beautiful they are!  I have a new found respect and adoration for my sweet friend and her lovely gal.  The photos from this session are laid back and easy going, my favorite kind, and I think they showcase the sweet relationship between a mom and her baby girl.

Best Friend Session in Downtown Bentonville

Hey everybody!!  Check out one of my favorite sessions from this spring of Michelle and Tina.  The two ladies are the best of friends.  I've known Michelle for a few years and heard many Tina & Gigi stories from her so I felt like I knew Tina and Gigi, her loveable Chihuahua, long before meeting them during this session.  Michelle wanted to do something special for her friend who was turning 30 and a photo session was the perfect way to capture the memory!  The girls popped mini bottles of glittery champagne and we shared a lot of laughs in downtown Bentonville!!

McKynlee

McKynlee is a spunky little girl who I had the pleasure of meeting this summer for her sixth month photo session!  She brought along her favorite tutu and bows for a memorable afternoon of playing in front of the camera!!

A Beautiful Boudoir Session

Hi Everyone!!

I have a very special session to share with you all today.  If you are a follower on any type of social media, you may have noticed how popular Boudoir Sessions are becoming.  This type of photography really seems to have blown up in the last two years.  All women desire to feel sexy for their partners, but mostly women want to feel beautiful for themselves!  Since Boudoir photography is becoming more mainstream, women are becoming more comfortable getting in front of the camera in this type of setting.

Having a boudoir session is like a little slice of empowerment, where a women can realize how truly amazing they look, whether you have curves or not.  Choosing the perfect boudoir photographer is very important, you want a professional who can capture your beauty in a tasteful way (unless you're going for raunchy and that IS not what I do).  2013 was the year I started doing boudoir sessions, walking into this new challenge I wasn't sure how I would feel about it but I fell in LOVE.

With this session, Mrs. M wanted to surprise her man with special photos since he loves her baby bump!  They are also huge Cowboys fans.  A special shout out to my fun assistant who has helped me on each of my boudoir sessions!!  The last photo is my favorite, if you're a photographer and you've ever had a moment when you see a photo and tear up because its exactly what you wanted, you'll know what I experienced here.  I had a vision in my head of what I wanted the photo to look like and at first it wasn't working out.  My assistant made a quick little change behind the scenes that completely made this picture.

Boudoir sessions aren't just for Valentines Day, Christmas, or honeymoon.  Surprise your partner on a day that nothing is expected.  NOW that is a good surprise!

Northwest Arkansas Newborn Photography- Miss Kennedy

Check out these sweet pictures of two week old Kennedy.  This was one of my best newborn sessions yet.  There were many factors that played into that, too.  I had the room very warm, slightly uncomfortable for adults but the temperature was just right for the little miss.  I also had white noise playing in the background and an assistant.  I had no clue how much those little details helped make her session go a lot smoother.

I consider myself a beginner in the world of studio lighting and newborn photography.  I will be honest... I'm extremely critical of myself and I've not gone ahead 100% with this type of session because I'm scared to get those cheesy photos that I've seen some beginning newborn photographers capture.  I'm getting better with each of these types of sessions and I feel confident enough to say that I'm proud of these photos of Kennedy.  She stole my heart and I can't get enough of her little button nose.  Here are a few of my favorites from her session.
